Mom and Dad's Anniversary

During our family Christmas, we surprised Mom and Dad for their 45th Wedding Anniversary. We presented them with corsages/boutonniere and let them know they were being honored all day. We lured them to the church next door where Father Pat was waiting for them. With all of our family present and some of their friends, Mom and Dad renewed their wedding vows. They were very surprised and couldn't believe we pulled it off without their knowledge. It was very touching to see that after 45 years they were willing to say "I Do" again. After the ceremony we went back to the hall for wedding cake and the whole family presented them with a weekend at Big Cedar Lodge.

The Bruns Family Christmas

Saturday we had our annual Bruns Family Christmas in Jefferson City. Our family is so big that we always have to rent a hall to accommodate everyone. This year we had 45 members in attendance. We all had a great visit, played games, ate a great meal and enjoyed a visit from Santa!

Kate's Holiday Program

Kate's Holiday Program was this week. She had a solo for a song called "Kalinka." We practiced for weeks and her big night arrived. She always comes out strong for her programs and her solo was amazing! She got every word and hit every note. After her number she continued with the rest of the songs. With just 2 songs left we lost her (which is what has happened in the past.) She began turning around and talking to all her friends, making them laugh. (See picture). She had a great time and that's all that matters.

Holiday cards for Soldiers

Today we hosted our Mother-Daughter Book Club at our house. I always try to host the Chrismtas one at our house because I love having guests at Christmas. Our book club has been together since Delaney was in 2nd grade and there are 7 girls who have stayed in touch even though they have all ended up at different schools. Today we made Christmas card for our American soldiers. The girls did a great job and I'm anxious to send them off to cheer up the troops. If you are interested in sending Christmas greetings yourself here is the address:

Taylor makes it to State!!

Yesterday 40 family members headed to the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis to watch Helias and my nephew Taylor play Webb City for the 4A State Championship. The game was very exciting with each team sharing the lead several different times. Although the outcome wasn't what we hoped for 41-34, Taylor played his heart out and we were all very proud of him. Here are some pics of the championship game.

Holiday Greetings!

Happy Holidays to our family and friends. We have counted each of you in our blessings for 2008. Thank you for your love, support and kindness during this past year. Our Christmas card will be coming to you electronically this year. Please click on the arrow and enjoy!
